Our family heritage had its beginnings in 1776 when Enoch Mead of Greenwich, Connecticut, with his bride, Jemima, discovered Long Pond, on their horseback wedding trip. Sarah Frances Studwell was born on February 6th 1838 to John Jay Studwell and Elizabeth LaFarge Moore, who were married on September 18, 1836. She was named for her father's only sister, Sarah, but was called by her full name of Sarah Frances by her parents. Read More »
