Thomas Atte Mede of St. Mary Redcliffe, will dated 1454 In the name of God Amen I Thomas Atte Mede Rector of the parish church of Elizabeth in the diocese of Ely in the village of Mundford, in the year of our lord one thousand four hundred fifty four, sick of body but of sound mind and memory, make my last testament in this form. First I commend my soul to God Almighty, the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the saints, and my body to be buried in the church of Elizabeth near the tomb of my mother. And I want to have a memorial stone placed above our tombs. And I would like to have a mass for the soul of Thomas Atte Mede, formerly the rector of the said church and for Agnes his mother. Item I want to have a priest to celebrate for my soul for a period of four years. Item I give to the church of Elizabeth two large Antiphonarios (?).
