- !DATA BASE: Boston Transcript, 3 Oct 1935, #642: "Coddington-John(3) Coddington
(and Cuddington) of Boston, born 1653-4, married Hannah, daughter of Richard
Gardner of Charlestown, Mass. Purchased land in Woodbridge, NJ in 1683-84 and
died after 1689. He was the son of John (2) Coddington (and Cuddington) of
Boston, who died 1655. and grandson of Stockdale Cuddington of Roxbury, Mass.,
1643, and Hampton,(Ed. NH) who died 1650. The latter was from Dorking, Surrey,
and his wife was Sarah, dau. of John Wood of Dorking, whom he married before
1616, the date of John Wood's will (See Coddington Pamphlets by Rev. Herbert E.
Coddington, Lowville, NY. )"

pg 195: "...Stockdale(1) Coddington, who was baptized at Bletchingly, County
Surrey, 8 March 1569/78 and died at Hampton, NH in January 1649/50, having
arrived at Roxbyry, Mass with his third wife by 1643, through John (2)
(1605-1655) of Boston, Mass, who preceeded his parents to America, having
arrived in 1635 with his wife Mary on the Susan and Ellen; John (3) (1635/4-
1700+) of Boston, Mass and Woodbridge, NJ., a soldier in King Philip's War and
a local officeholder;....)
